UNPREPARED: Sharing Tea Inside the Tents of Moria

[project by Salome Wiedmer – Creative Media & Communication Course Graduate)

How do you prepare yourself to leave your whole life behind, to endure a dangerous journey, and to end up inside a refugee camp? How do you prepare yourself to aid those displaced by hate? And how can you prepare yourself to find common ground on foreign ground?

Unprepared is an immersive and introspective look into Europe’s most controversial refugee camp in Greece.

This tea table book is a collection of creative writing, stories, and photographs that bring you face-to-face with the reality of what asylum seekers experience living in Moria refugee camp, through the eyes of two western women who volunteer there.

They found themselves with a real and raw account addressed to the refugees, with all the complexities, questions, and aches that come with the realities of camp and aid relief, in an attempt to express what their eyes and ears couldn’t keep up with throughout the day.

Unprepared sits you down for tea in the middle of the chaos and introduces you to the heart of Moria in a way you would least expect it.
