A life giving story of Sylvia’s struggle with HIV in Papua New Guinea

How do you release a whole culture from the shame of HIV infection and the resulting lack of testing and treatment? Innovision Studio and PNG based non-profit ICare4U partnered together to film and produce this beautiful and life-changing movie for a Papua New Guinean audience. The goal was to make this epidemic personal and de-stigmatized to see the tide turned for this beautiful nation.

As filmmakers they were floored during the interview with Sylvia John – an HIV survivor from PNG. Her unique and heart-rending experience became the core of this film and speaks more loudly than any statistics ever could.

Creative Media Course students took part in this impactful, feature length documentary through preproduction, video assistant editing, translation / transcription and crafting content for film distribution that became a part of the release strategy. SEE MORE
